As a major program of the Office of Habitat Conservation, NOAA’s Restoration Center invests in and conducts habitat restoration work across the Gulf of Mexico. We accomplish our mission by conserving habitat for fisheries and protected resources; restoring natural resources impacted by oil and chemical spills and increasing the resilience of coastal ecosystems. Our approach uses sound science and shared goals to strengthen the resilience of the Gulf’s marine resources, coastal communities, and economics.
