Who We Are

Our History

Our Partners

Our History

The Gulf Partnership was founded in 2010 by the Land Trust Alliance, the National Atmospheric and Oceanic Administration (NOAA), and partners across the Gulf states. From its humble beginnings as a coalition of like-minded conservationists, the Gulf Partnership became a dissemination platform, connecting people, resources, and their communities.

In 2020, the Gulf Partnership became a stand-alone 501(c)3 nonprofit and continued to grow, creating new conservation programs while connecting the conservation community across the region.

Our Mission

Our Partners

Our History

Our mission is to increase the pace, quality, and permanence of voluntary land and water conservation within the Gulf states.

Focused on landscape-scale conservation, the Gulf Partnership works across Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. Our diverse coalition aims to build a community of practice with conservation nonprofits, foundations, businesses, and federal, state, and local agencies to strategically address the environmental challenges of the region through a public-private partnership model.

Our Partners

Our member organizations work with private landowners, government agencies, and local communities to protect the region’s most critical natural resources and beautiful landscapes: ranchlands, mangrove forests, freshwater springs, longleaf pine and bottomland hardwood forests, sandy beaches, and barrier islands.

Our members combine decades worth of experience working to permanently conserve public and private lands and waters for habitat, scenic and cultural resources, nature-based recreation, resilience, water quality, and numerous other natural and human services.
